Formed in January 2015, the ensemble VIF was born out of a desire to explore and share the repertoire of lesser-known combination of instruments. We received a MCCCD Visiting Artist Grant to present a collaborative chamber music concert with dancer at Phoenix College and Glendale Community College. The innovative program centered around Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat with choreography and dance by Rebecca Rabideau.
Recent performances include an engagement with the Carmel Bach Festival in October of 2016 at the Hidden Valley Institute of the Arts in Carmel Valley, California, Orangewood Presbyterian Church Arts Alive! Series, Mountain View Presbyterian Musician Encounters Series, and in March of 2016 at the Downtown Chamber Series at the Newton in Phoenix.
Composed of Phoenix-based clarinetist Erin Finkelstein, violinist Karen Sinclair from the Phoenix Symphony, and award-winning pianist Olga Gorelik, we exist to present vibrant concerts, engage your senses, and educate and communicate about our love of the art of music-making as a living form.
